BICYCLE HEADBADGES
In my workshop, I manufacture four types of bike badges. Most of them are pre-designed by me, although I also make custom shields. Below, you have the description of the different headbadges I manufacture and whether they can be customized
CUSTOM ENGRAVINGS
Custom engraved headbadges are made from a sheet that can be made of german silver or copper. Thickness ranges from 1 to 1.2 mm, and the height is around a maximum of 60mm. How are they made? You send me the design you want, and I convert it into a format suitable for a bike badge. The more complete the design you send me, the more affordable your custom badge will be. The base price is €75 plus shipping of approximately €8. Depending on the extra design time required, the price may increase. That’s why it’s crucial to send me your idea as polished as possible.
I can’t create designs based on ideas like, ‘I would like a badge with a mountain and a cyclist riding among pine trees.’ It’s not possible as the amount of hours required for such a process is immense.
All the headbadges you see on the Custom Engravings page have been made for clients worldwide. You can check the positive reviews on mediterrantio.etsy.com.
If you have a tappered tube please let me know that in advance. Not all the tappered measures can be bending.
CUT ALONG THE EDGES
The cut badges are based on my own designs developed over the years. They feature simple yet expressive shapes and can be cut in aluminum, brass, or copper. Metal thickness varies from 1.75mm in aluminum to 1mm in copper and brass. If you have an idea, you can send it, and I’ll try to create a custom headbadge for you.
CAST IN BRASS
The head badges cast in brass are created from designs that I have developed over time. To create them, it is necessary to craft an original piece in jewelry modeling wax and manufacture a mold from it. With that mold, wax copies are made and taken to a micro-casting shop where the metal pieces are obtained. From that point, imperfections are removed, the piece is shaped, sanded, aged, oxidized, and finished with a layer of metal lacquer. Variations in the design are not possible.
I can create custom badges using this technique, but the cost is approximately around €150 for the first piece. Subsequent copies can be made at a much more economical price.
